PONY 2012 Bat Rules: Please read these guidelines Before buying bats!
PONY rules have changed this year regarding baseball bats that can be used during practices and games. If you have questions, please ask your coach before buying an expensive bat that can't be used.

*No 2 3/4" bats allowed at any level
*Effective January 1, 2012, all drop (-) 3 bats must be BBCOR certified with a stamp indicating a maximum BBCOR .50. All BBCOR bats shall be a smooth implement from top of cap to top of knob.
*2 5/8" bats that are drop (-) 4 or more are legal as long as they do not eceed 42" in length and designed for baseball use.
*2 1/2 and 2 1/4 bats that are drop (-) 4 or more are legal as long as they are stamped BPF 1.15 or less, stamp Approved for use in PONY baseball.
*Only drop (-) 3 bats are required to be BBCOR certified.

*This flow chart may be helpful as well.

PONY Batting Helmet Guidance: We are expecting PONY to issue rules in the near future prohibiting the practice of players sharing league provided helmets during practices and games due to hygiene concerns. This would also include sharing player owned helmets. In anticipation of these rule changes, we are encouraging players to purchase their own batting helmet for use during practices and games beginning this Spring 2012 season.

PONY Protective Mouth Guard Guidance: PONY recommends players use a protective mouth guard at all times while playing.
